Life/form® Episiotomy & Perineal Laceration Training Kit

This obstetrical simulator offers a remarkable opportunity for students to become proficient in the techniques needed to repair most common birth injuries. By making their own incision into the soft, lifelike pad, students and instructors can create a traditional episiotomy or nearly any type of first- through fourth-degree lacerations.

Embedded within the tissue are discreet structures representing the bulbocavernous muscle, transverse perineal muscle, and external anal sphincter. These muscles can be cut and repaired individually just as they would be in a real patient. 

Although the simulator features an incredibly soft, realistic feel, the simulated tissue will remain tough and resilient through many training sessions. The lifelike feel enhances the development of instrument handling skills, the amount of tension on sutures, and all of the different knot-tying methods. A fully adjustable stand holds the pad and molded base at any angle.

The Life/form Episiotomy & Perineal Laceration Training Kit includes a soft pad with a molded base, an adjustable stand, dissection instruments in a fold-over case, one suture with a curved needle, and a soft carry case. Replacement pads are available. It is recommended that only one incision be made through the muscle area of each pad.
